The Dulche de Leche (also known as “caramelized milk”) is a milk-based spreadable cream typical of South America, in particular Argentina, where it originated. As the name indicates, it is milk-based. A sort of sweet and creamy “milk jam” but not cloying, perfect to be used in many sweet preparations and excellent to be enjoyed spread on a slice of bread, rusks or added as a topping to fruit or yogurt but also desserts and pastry preparations.

The Dulce de Leche is prepared by cooking milk and sugar for a long time until a cream is obtained, and its taste is very similar to that of mou candies.
